Testimonials About The Sugarbush Houses
Dear Jannine,

Thank You for opening your heart and facility to help me care for my wife, Jeanette.  I could not have managed without your help and having her there allowed her family to visit her often in her final weeks.  She enjoyed the several days when she could sit outside in the sunshine.  You told me we were family and the entire staff treated us as family.  I had no idea how rapidly the cancer would spread and how fast Jeanette would pass.  In spite of the fact that we had known for 6 months what the potential outcome would be, I didn't realize it would happen as quickly as it did.

As you know, I tried everything to make Jeanette as comfortable as possible and to do everything for her.  Without the help of you and your team at Sugarbush I could not possibly have provided for Jeanette as well on my own. While our stay was short, the service provided by your staff was outstanding.  I could not have picked a better place for Jeanette's care.  Your staff went out of their way to honor her dietary wishes. The personal care they  provided was outstanding throughout our stay.

Thank you again for the outstanding facilities which you operate and the Christian, Caring and Nurturing environment which you provide for the residents.  Without your help I would have been unable to cope with the situation.

Please feel free to use me as a reference at any time.

Dear Jannine,

When I first meet you, as you interviewed my mother, you said, “Michael, Sugarbush East will be home for your mother for the rest of her life.” For our family that was music to our ears. We imagined Mom, who was 99 ˝ years old at the time, having to move a number of times. Moving her to any new facility, after looking at many, was a depressing thought as she was declining both mentally and physically. Finding YOU was a miracle.

You were correct. Our Mother spent the last 300 days of her life living with you and your superlative staff at Sugarbush East. From the moment Mother moved into your home and every minute until her passing away, we never worried that she wasn’t receiving the best care available anywhere. Because of you, I slept better knowing she was being well taken care of and even loved 24/7.

You and your staff are a blessing to your residents and to their families. Our children, grandchildren, friends and relatives, after visiting Mom, unanimously said, “I hope I can spend the end of my life living here or a place just like it.” They were so impressed with the beauty, cleanliness, cheer, aroma of home cooked meals, and dignity shown to your residents.

Our Mother could not have had the comforts, help and love you provided her anywhere else that we know of.  We feel so fortunate to have found you Jannine.

Thank you forever,
Michael D Melet

Jannine and Cricket,

We are so happy to have found Sugarbush House for our mother. Mom is normally a loner and wouldn’t come out of her room all day, but since we moved her to Sugarbush she has blossomed and became so much more outgoing and loving, kind, and happy. She loves the staff and all the attention that she receives for not only her physical needs but her emotional and social needs too. She has found a new purpose for her life since losing Dad. She feels useful there and tries to help others that have more needs. She always has a smile on her face when we come to visit her. At Sugarbush, she has a family home and it’s so nice to see her and the others out in the living room or at the dining room table having a very good home cooked meal and talking and sharing. Everyone that comes to visit her can’t believe the difference it has made in Mom since moving her to Sugarbush. They say it’s the best thing we could have done for her. We  thank you and Cricket, and all the wonderful staff for the loving home and excellent care she has now. We can leave her and know she is in the best hands that she ever could be. You will never know what it means to be able to leave her and go home and sleep at night knowing she is in the best hands possible. My sisters and I feel we couldn’t have made a better choice in the entire world for our Mom.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart,
Barb Bartkowiak

Dear Jannine, Cricket & all the staff at Sugarbush House #3,

We just want to say THANK YOU - you all are AWESOME! In March of 2012, we moved my husband's mother into your home, she had a stroke 4 years ago and is only 70 years old. She has never had the QUALITY of life and especially the QUALITY of care that is given to her at Sugarbush House! I wish we would have known of you from the beginning! It took many places and many problems, before she has become the person she is today! For that we give all the credit to EVERYONE at Sugarbush House! You have made Rita a REAL PERSON again, THANK YOU!
Her life is better, our lives are better & the peace of mind you give to families is comparable to none! When you say..."raising the bar for adult living" you truly do raise the bar!

With Respect,
Bob & Tami O'Donnell

P.S. Congrats on House #4 You deserve it! And we know it will also be filled with LOVE!

My Mom moved into the Sugarbush House December, 2010.  Not what she wanted.  Change brings challenges and leaving an apartment after 7 years was difficult for her.  But, it was a necessary move.  The staff at Sugarbush did all they could to make the transition as easy as possible.

Over a year later and our family is very pleased with the care Mom receives.

Though Mom has declined, the staff encourages her to be as independent as she can be.  She does household tasks, such as setting the table or clearing dirty dishes using the seat of her walker to move the dishes, giving her a way to feel needed.  Allowing Mom of pick out her own clothes for the day is something that would be easier and faster for the staff to just do, but they take the time with her.  All is according to what she is able to do that day.

The staff keeps me, as POA, advised of any changes and gives me updates when I call.

The move to Adult Foster Care was not on our agenda for Mom.  We expected to hire care, allowing her to live her days in her apartment.  However, this placed called Sugarbush, with owner Janine, Cricket (who we are just getting to know) and house manager, Pam, with all the other caregivers has truely been an answer to our prayers.  Once again, God has provided.

Keep up the good work, Sugarbush staff.  You are loved and appreciated.

Sincerely,
Sharon Williams

Dear Ladies,

I want to commend your staff on their preparation of my Dad for our excursions.  I have taken him to a number of events lately and have been very pleased with his attire for each.

It is not uncommon for me to take him out when it is the normal meal time at the house.  They have been very attentive to feeding him before he goes or having a sandwich ready for us to take with us.  They have been communicating well with each other so that they know whether our excursion includes a meal and are confident of the needed attire.

This is one more example of your attention to detail at Sugarbush and why I can recommend it to my friends who may be facing the challenge of helping a family member who is aging.

Many Thanks,
Nancy
